Industrial Hygiene Services
What is Industrial Hygiene? Industrial Hygiene is defined as "that science and art devoted to the anticipation, recognition, evaluation and control of those environmental factors or stresses arising in or from the workplace, which may cause sickness, impaired health and well-being, or significant discomfort among workers or among citizens of the community”. The SRP Environmental Industrial Hygiene Group is led by a Certified Industrial Hygienist with 23 years in the industry.
Our scientists and engineers, with over 75 years of combined experience, are committed to protecting the health and safety of people in industries and workplaces of all types. Our Industrial Hygiene Group has expertise in all aspects of Industrial Hygiene, including Mold Removal and Remediation.
Our industrial hygiene team and environmental team can assist you with all your industrial hygiene needs. We can conduct an Initial Worksite Analysis, Program Review, or Exposure Monitoring
. We can design Engineering Controls to minimize or eliminate hazards.
The Worksite Analysis is an essential first step that helps an Industrial Hygienist determine what jobs and work stations are the sources of potential problems. During this analysis, the Industrial Hygienist measures and identifies exposures, potential problems and risks that may occur during work activities.Once the potential risks are identified, our experts will recommend the appropriate corrective measures, which may consist of Engineering Controls, Work Practice Controls or Administrative Controls.
The SRP Environmental Industrial Hygiene Group utilizes State of the Art equipment such as:
Gasmet 4030 FTIR Gas Detection Instrument
Larson Davis Sound Level Meter/Octave Band Analyzer
Quest Noise Dosimeters
Quest Heat Stress Instrument
GrayWolf IAQ Instrument and ThermoNiton XRF Instrument
Analysis of all samples collected by the SRP Industrial Hygiene experts is performed by American Industrial Hygiene Association-accredited laboratories.
The SRP Environmental Asbestos Division has over 50 years of experience and can assist with Investigations, Project Design, Project Management, Air Monitoring, and Asbestos Management Plans.
|Combustible Dust Evaluations||
Any combustible material (and some materials normally considered noncombustible) can burn rapidly when in a finely divided form. If such a dust is suspended in air in the right concentration, it can become explosive. The force from such an explosion can cause employee deaths, injuries, and destruction of entire buildings. Such incidents have killed scores of employees and injured hundreds over the past few decades. |
|Exposure Monitoring & Assessments Surveys||
SRP Environmental will evaluate each client's potential exposure to determine if Exposure Monitoring is necessary and if so, what type of sampling is required to meet the requirements of OSHA's 1910.1000 standard.|
Operations involving high air temperatures, radiant heat sources, high humidity, direct physical contact with hot objects, or strenuous physical activities have a high potential for inducing heat stress in employees engaged in such operations. SRP Environmental will assist your company in the development of a Heat Stress Program to include the evaluation of heat stress levels and the employees work practices to minimize the effects.
|Hospital EHS Services||
SRP Environmental can assist your Hospital or Medical Facility with Waste Anesthesia Gas Surveys, Ventilation Surveys, Exposure Monitoring for ethylene oxide, formaldehyde, xylene and toluene, mercury, the Disposal of Medical Waste, Laboratory Safety, and Respiratory Fit Testing to develop corrective actions based on results and keep your facility within OSHA regulated guidelines.
|Indoor Air Quality and LEED Sampling||
The quality of air inside offices, schools, and other workplaces is important not only for workers' comfort but also for their health. As an environmental consulting firm, SRP Environmental can inspect the location for potential areas of hazard and our expert Industrial Hygiene team can perform the components of the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) "Testing for Indoor Air Quality 01 81 09."
|Lead Paint Investigations and Inspections||
Lead overexposure is one of the most common overexposures found in industry and is a leading cause of workplace illness and a major public health risk. Our experts will conduct a lead-paint survey and assist with the remediation process.|
|Mold Removal - Fungal and Bacterial Investigations||
Fungi, or mold, can grow within 24-48 hours following a water intrusion. Bacterial contamination can occur due to Black or Gray water contamination. At SRP Environmental, we use state-of-the-art technology to find fungal or bacterial growth and develop a site specific plan for remediation.
|Noise Exposure Monitoring and Community Noise Surveys||
Occupational Noise and Vibrations are both fluctuations in the pressure of air that can affect the human body and can harm workers when they occur at high levels. Noise can be responsible for a variety of health problems associated with the stress response and can affect everyone.
SRP Environmental’s Acoustic Engineering Division will evaluate your workplace to determine the most cost effective and functional method of reducing noise levels.
|NORM - Naturally Occurring Radioactive Material||
NORM can cause problems when brought to the surface by activities such as oil and gas exploration or leaching into the soil or ground water. This can cause problems in many industries. SRP's Environmental Consultation Service and Industrial Hygiene Team will provide NORM testing, remediation, and disposal, as well as perform NORM training.
|Soda Blasting/Media Blasting|| |
Our experienced Media Blasting Team will produce a quality, cost effective solution for all your blasting needs.
